Facility maintenance PWA

The challenge

Technicians recorded work on paper and transcribed it at the end of the day, often days later. Supervisors had no live view of workload, asset histories were unreliable, and disputes over whether work had been done came down to memory. Much of the work happened in basements and plant rooms with no usable connection.

The technical solution

We built a progressive web app that assumes the network is absent, and a Laravel back office that treats the field device as the source of truth until it can sync.

  • Nuxt and Vue.js PWA with local persistence and conflict-aware synchronisation
  • Interface designed for one-handed phone use, large targets and gloved hands
  • Photo capture attached automatically to the correct asset and work order
  • Laravel back end with full asset history, scheduling and recurring maintenance plans
  • Supervisor dashboards for workload, response time and cost by building
