Technical leadership
Architecture, data modelling and the decisions that are expensive to reverse. Involved from the first conversation, not handed the project after it is sold.
About
An independent design and software studio, working with clients who need systems that will still make sense in five years.
Our story
2008 — 2026
XionDesigns started in 2008 building websites for businesses that needed more than a template could give them. The work grew as the web did: content platforms, then booking and management systems, then the operational software those businesses ran on every day.
What did not change was the way we work. We stayed small and senior deliberately. Every project is staffed by people who have taken a system from a blank architecture diagram to a production server, and who will still be reachable when something needs attention two years later.
Today we build custom web applications, enterprise content platforms and the infrastructure underneath them, for clients across the Americas and Europe. We are a US-registered company, and we work in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
The team
We do not staff projects with whoever is free. These are the disciplines that show up on every engagement.
Architecture, data modelling and the decisions that are expensive to reverse. Involved from the first conversation, not handed the project after it is sold.
Laravel on the back end, Vue.js and Nuxt on the front. Tested, reviewed, documented code that another developer can pick up.
Research, flows, wireframes and interface systems — designed against real constraints and handed over ready to build.
Ubuntu servers, deployment pipelines, monitoring and backups. The part of the job that only gets noticed when it is done badly.
How we work
Five stages. You see working software well before the end of them.
We learn how the business actually operates, where the current tools break, and what success would look like in numbers. Nothing is estimated before this.
Data model, integrations, infrastructure and a scope you can hold us to. You get a written blueprint and a fixed, itemised estimate.
Flows, wireframes and an interface system, prototyped and reviewed with the people who will use it every day.
Short delivery cycles on a staging environment you can open at any time. Code review and automated tests are part of the work, not an extra.
Launch on infrastructure we configure and keep watching: updates, backups, monitoring and a person who answers when something is wrong.
How we decide
If a feature is not worth building, we say so before invoicing for it. If an estimate has grown, you hear it from us early.
Anyone can ship a launch. We optimise for the maintenance, the handover and the change request nobody has thought of yet.
Technical depth when it changes a decision, plain language when it does not. You should never need a translator to read our documents.
Your code, your servers, your accounts, documented. We want you to stay because the work is good, not because leaving is hard.
Send us the shape of the problem. We will tell you honestly whether we are the right studio for it, and what it would take.
